Shoot: Elfin Dreams (Mia)

Model: Mia L. S.
Photographer: Sabrina Nielsen

Hi guys :D

I did this shoot a few weeks ago with Mia and Tenna. It's been in the works for quite some time now. I spent a lot of time sewing the dress and making the headpiece, and of course we spent months waiting for the weather to get warm enough, so we wouldn't freeze so much.

We went to the forest after getting ready at my place, and unfortunately I had been ill the weekend before so I hadn't had a chance to go and scope out a location after the snow melted, so we had to walk for some time to get to a place that I liked. I think we ended up walking around and shooting in different places for three whole hours, which was actually great, 'cause we ended up with several different backgrounds. I was also really happy to use the smoke pellets again, especially after we found that place in that fifth picture with all of those branches.

This was Mia's first shoot ever and I think she did great. She's so naturally photogenic. Look at those big beautiful blue eyes and that gorgeous pale skin

I hope you like the pictures too :D

Rimmel Apocalips

More of these, oh yes! I love the bright colours available and I already covered the shade Stellar here.

This time I got:
Apocalyptic (bright fuchsia pink)
Galaxy (purple pink with shimmer)
Big Bang (a bright red)

They're super pigmented and lasts a really long time on the lips. Galaxy is little sheerer than the other ones and it also has a hint of shimmer. Overall I really like these lip lacquers, the only thing to mention, as I also said in the other post, is the scent. It's bad, but disappears quickly after application.

I bought these from Asos.com, but I just saw today that Matas has them now (if any Danes are reading this).

Mouthwatering Berry Lips

I was in Sephora with a good friend the other day and while she was swatching blushes, I was falling in love with this magnificent piece of art. Yes, piece of art, because let's face it, the packaging alone on the YSL lipsticks is stunning. I have this thing with deep reds and berry tones, I'm always searching for that perfect "Snow White" lip, that I can wear on a daily basis. I think my search is over now.

Now I didn't buy this on that day in Sephora, because at 225DKK I thought it was too expensive, but I couldn't stop thinking about it and I returned to Sephora the next day, because I'd returned some other items from the day before, so I felt better about spending the dough on this, oh yeah. Just look at it:

I got the shade #5 Mouthwatering Berry from the Volupté Sheer Candy range. And this is like a tinted lip balm type of lipstick. It really moisturizes the lips while adding that splash of colour. It has a lovely scent of watermelons, haha, I really like that scent.
It is really sheer, but I just love the way it adds shine and the way the colour looks kind of "natural". And though it seems a bit silly that it costs that much for what is essentially just a tinted balm, I'd rather get something that I can use really often, than maybe a matte lipstick that I'd only wear once in a while.

I've found that it works quite well with Beguiled from Topshop. Some times I like to just dab a bit of Beguiled on my lips and then YSL one over for a more pigmented and longer lasting colour. I just love the effect that that has. It's the most beautiful deep berry lips.

Shoot: A Promise of Spring (Lone)

Model: L. J.
Photographer: Sabrina Nielsen

I had a vacation from work a few weeks back and so I asked my friend Lone if she wanted to do a shoot. I had sewn the dress during the week from this gorgeous pale purple velvet fabric with imprint. We went to the forest and while we walked to our location the weather was quite lovely. The sun was shining, there was barely any wind, but then when we were about to set up the wind started blowing like crazy. Suddenly it was absolutely freezing and overall really difficult to shoot in. So we didn't shoot for that long, but I still like the photos that came from it. The pale purple is just beautiful on Lone imo.

Haul/Review: Real Techniques Brushes

Yes. Shit just got real.

I finally got myself some of the Real Techniques brushes. These seem to be some of the most hyped makeup brushes out there, so I just had to see what all the fuss was about. I bought the Core Collection, the Expert Face brush, the Blush brush and the Stippling brush.

The Expert Face Brush
This one is a freaking godsend for liquid foundation. It gives such an amazing finish. I'm ready to throw all my other foundation brushes away, they always left me with a streaky foundation that I'd have to smoothen out with my fingers, but no more of that with this beauty of a brush.

The Blush Brush
You know, I was a bit unsure of whether or not this brush was going to be a hit. I don't know, I feel suspicious of blush brushes. The ones that I've had in the past have all disappointed me. This one, though, is amazing. It is so cleverly thought out. The size and shape allow for both very precise application and a more fluffy blending. It's so plush, I like that I can just gently let the brush touch a very pigmented blush and it will pick up just the right amount.

The Stippling Brush
This one is really good for cream blushes and powders. It can be used for more purposes, of course, but this is how I use it. It's quite good, but it's not always the one I reach for. If you already have a stippling brush, you probably won't need this. It's good, but not as mindblowing as some of the other RT brushes.

The Buffing Brush
This one is also excellent for liquid foundation, but I use it mostly for mineral foundation and powders. It's really, really good. It's so soft and blends the product effortlessly into the skin. I've stopped using my kabuki brush for mineral powders now, I only use that one if I want a really light coverage now.

The Contour Brush
This is actually the first contouring brush I've ever had. I don't usually contour my face, but I tried this one out and it seems to be excellent for the purpose. Like the blush brush, it allows for  both precise application and also blending. It's a hit!

The Pointed Foundation Brush
I don't use this for foundation, as I much prefer to use the Expert Face brush for that, but this one works well as an under eye concealer brush. It blends the product beautifully into the skin.

The Detailer Brush
This one is really good for precision concealing and for lips products.

Overall
I love these brushes most of all because it's plain that a lot of thought have gone into them and they're all super soft and of really sturdy quality.

If you are one of the, apparently, very few people in the world who don't have these brushes, you need to get yourself to a place where they sell these. Like, right now. If they're not available in your country, go to iHerb.com. I bought mine there and they are really cheap, like half the price in the UK. Shipping was cheap (and fast) too.

I'll just list the prices for ya:
Core Collection - 17.99 USD
Expert Face Brush - 8.99 USD
Blush Brush - 8.99 USD
Stippling Brush - 9.99 USD

I think that's so cheap considering the amazing quality. I'll definitely be purchasing more of these.
